Pacifica extended their postseason success on Saturday against Cypress. They narrowly escaped with a win as the squad sidled past the Centurions 9-8. The Mariners haven't had any issues with the Centurions recently, as the game was their fourth consecutive victory against them.

Pacifica gave Raquel Pineda the start and clearly made the right call: she pitched three innings while giving up just one earned run off one hit. Pineda has been nothing but reliable on the mound: she hasn't given up more than two walks in three consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Mattea Stern, who went 4-for-5 with two stolen bases, three runs, and three RBI. That's the most stolen bases she has posted since back in March. The team also got some help courtesy of Sanaiyah Cleland, who went 3-for-5 with two runs and one RBI.

Pacifica kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 16 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least 15 hits in three consecutive matchups.

Pacifica's record now sits at 19-10. As for Cypress, their defeat dropped their record down to 17-13.

Looking ahead, Pacifica will take on JSerra Catholic at 3:15 p.m. on Wednesday. The Lions' pitching crew has only allowed 2.1 runs per game this season, so the Mariners' hitters will have their work cut out for them. Cypress does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
