Preview: Belt vs. Scobey/Opheim

Scobey/Opheim found success last week, but it has a real challenge ahead. This Saturday it takes on Belt in the first playoff game of the year. Belt will need to watch out since Scobey/Opheim has posted big point totals in its previous eight matchups.

You're bound to get a positive result if you outscore your opponent every quarter, and that's just how it played out between Scobey/Opheim and Powder River County. Scobey/Opheim had all the answers against Powder River County two weeks ago, winning 64 - 38. Senior Riley Linder continued his outstanding stretch of play as he rushed for 236 yards in the victory, marking his 6th consecutive game with over 100 yards rushing. Linder has now scored at least one TD in the past eight consecutive games.

Meanwhile, Belt can now show off seven landslide victories after its game two weeks ago. It kept its opponent Centerville off the scoreboard entirely two weeks ago, winning the match 26 - 0. Belt is ranked 61st in the nation (many places ahead of Centerville), so the decisive victory wasn't entirely unexpected.

Their wins bumped Scobey/Opheim to 6-3 and Belt to 8-0. With both Belt and Scobey/Opheim swaggering in after impressive performances, we'll see which team will step up to teach the other some humility.
