Baseball Recap: Dawson's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Dawson won the last time they faced Pasadena Memorial and things went their way on Tuesday too. The Dawson Eagles sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 4-3 victory over the Pasadena Memorial Mavericks. The win was familiar territory for the Eagles, who have now won three contests in a row.

Garritt Romero spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered three earned runs on nine hits. He also tossed no walks, which is notable because Dawson is 3-1 when he allows at most one walk, but 2-5 otherwise.

On the hitting side, Dawson's victory was truly a team effort as six different players contributed at least one hit. One of them was Maddox Botas, who went 1-for-3 with one stolen base and one RBI. Botas is on a roll when it comes to stolen bases, as he's now snagged at least one in each of the last four games he's played. Another was Mason Walls, who scored a run and stole a base while going 1-for-2.

Dawson's win bumped their record up to 5-6. As for Pasadena Memorial, their loss was their first in the district, dropping their district record down to 2-1 and their overall record down to 8-6-1.

Dawson will have a chance to go back-to-back against Pasadena Memorial: the pair's next game is a rematch scheduled at 6:00 p.m. on Friday.
