Soccer Game Preview: Starkville Academy vs. Lamar

The Starkville Academy Volunteers will take on the Lamar Raiders at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

Last Friday, Starkville Academy didn't have quite enough to beat Heritage Academy and fell 2-1.

Meanwhile, Lamar waltzed into their match on Friday with six straight wins... but they left with seven. They put the hurt on the Chiefs with a sharp 8-1 win. The result was nothing new for the Raiders, who have now won five contests by three goals or more so far this season.

They hit Magnolia Heights with a three-pronged attack, as the team got scores from Blake Harris (6), Logan Cross, and Weston Cox.

Starkville Academy dropped their record down to 3-4 with the defeat, which was their fourth straight on the road. As for Lamar, their victory bumped their record up to 10-2.

Starkville Academy was able to grind out a solid win over Lamar in their previous meeting back in January of 2024, winning 2-0. Does Starkville Academy have another victory up their sleeve, or will Lamar turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
