Football Recap: Poca Dots vs. Sherman Tide
Poca extended their losing streak to seven on Friday, dropping them down to 2-8. They took a hard 26-8 fall against the Sherman Tide. If the Dots were looking for revenge after losing 51-13 to the Tide when the teams met back in November of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.
As for Sherman, their win was their tenth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 8-2. Those home victories came thanks in part to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they've averaged 35.0 points this season.
Sherman's success was the result of a balanced attack that saw several players step up, but Chase Southern led the charge by picking up 66 receiving yards and a pair of TDs. The dominant performance also gave Southern a new career-high in receiving touchdowns (two). Another player making a difference was Trey Lester, who gained 100 total yards and a touchdown.
As of now, neither Poca nor Sherman have any future games scheduled.
