Basketball Recap: Jackson-Olin Takes a Loss

Jackson-Olin was not able to break out of their rough patch on Thursday as the team picked up their 19th straight defeat dating back to last season. They lost to the Minor Tigers at home by a 62-46 margin. The Mustangs were probably out for revenge after losing 58-43 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

It was another big night for Carmelo Burroughs, who went 9 of 21 en route to 23 points and eight rebounds for Minor. Burroughs' evening made it four games in a row in which he has scored at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Isaiah Mcclain, who posted ten points along with five assists and four steals.

Jackson-Olin's loss dropped their record down to 0-17. As for Minor, they pushed their record up to 17-4 with the win, which was their fifth straight on the road.

Jackson-Olin will take on Homewood at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Homewood has insisted on making their lastthree contests complete nail-biters, turning in a record of 2-1 during that stretch of close contests. As for Minor, they will host Parker at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Minor is strutting in with some offensive muscle as they've averaged 53.4 points per game this season.
