If Horizon Science Academy-Southwest was riding high fresh off their 47-25 takedown of EPIC Academy last Friday, their most recent game may have dampened their spirits a bit. The Horizon Science Academy-Southwest Huskies took a 36-32 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Hansberry Bengals. The Huskies' defeat signaled the end of their three-game winning streak.

Despite the loss, Horizon Science Academy-Southwest still got an impressive performance from Aislin Vazquez, who posted 13 points in addition to five assists and three steals. Vazquez is on a roll when it comes to steals, as she's now grabbed three or more in the last three games she's played. Kelsy Bailey was another key player, putting up six points and three steals.

It was another big night for Miyay Jordan, who dropped a triple-double on 20 points, ten boards, and 12 steals for Hansberry. Those 20 points gave Jordan a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Lillian Rushing, who had eight points along with eight rebounds and eight steals.

Horizon Science Academy-Southwest's loss dropped their record down to 13-8. As for Hansberry, their victory was their third straight at home, which pushed their record up to 6-10.

Horizon Science Academy-Southwest has already played their next contest, a 50-13 win against Gage Park on the 29th. As for Hansberry, they are taking a road trip to face off against Thornridge at 6:30 p.m. on February 5th.
