Softball Recap: Strathmore Finds Playoff Glory Versus Alpaugh

Two teams were on the hunt for playoff glory, but only Strathmore walked away with it. They blew past the Alpaugh Buffalos 19-0 on Friday. The Spartans' hitters stepped up their game for this one, as that was the most runs they've scored all season.

Avery Behrens was incredible, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with one home run, four runs, and two stolen bases. The dominant performance also gave her a new career-high in RBI (four). Elizabeth McDonald was another key player, going 2-for-3 with two stolen bases, three runs, and two doubles.

The win (which was Strathmore's third in a row) raised their record to 16-8. Those victories came thanks in part to their hitting performance across that stretch, as they averaged 12.0 runs over those games. As for Alpaugh, their loss was their ninth straight on the road dating back to last season, which dropped their record down to 10-8.

Coming up, Strathmore will be playing in front of their home fans against Corcoran at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Alpaugh does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
