Volleyball Game Preview: St. Clair Bulldogs vs. New Haven Shamrocks

The St. Clair Bulldogs will head out to challenge the New Haven Shamrocks at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday. St. Clair will be strutting in after a win while New Haven will be coming in after a loss.

On Thursday, St. Clair made easy work of St. James and carried off a 3-0 victory. The win made it back-to-back victories for the Bulldogs.

The 3-0 score doesn't show just how dominant St. Clair was: they took every set by at least 15 points. The match finished with set scores of 25-10, 25-3, 25-3.

St. Clair can attribute much of their success to Macey Martinez, who had 16 digs. Those 16 digs gave Martinez a new career-high.

St. Clair was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 15 aces. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now served at least five aces in three consecutive contests.

Meanwhile, New Haven came up short against Pacific on Thursday and fell 3-1. The Shamrocks haven't had much luck with the Indians recently, as the team has come up short the last six times they've met.

New Haven's defeat dropped their record down to 6-18-2. As for St. Clair, the win got them back to even at 11-11-1.

St. Clair took their victory against New Haven in their previous meeting back in October of 2024 by a conclusive 3-0 score. The rematch might be a little tougher for the Bulldogs since the team won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
