Basketball Recap: Miyamura Takes a Loss

After flying high against Kirtland Central last Tuesday, Miyamura came back down to earth. The Miyamura Patriots fell just short of the Bloomfield Bobcats by a score of 48-46 on Friday. The Patriots have struggled against the Bobcats recently, as the game was their third consecutive lost matchup.

Asaias Stover was the offensive standout of the matchup as he went 5 of 10 on his way to 16 points. Another player making a difference was Xavier Abernathy, who posted eight points along with five assists and five rebounds.

Miyamura's defeat dropped their record down to 2-18. As for Bloomfield, the victory (which was their fifth in a row) raised their record to 11-9.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Miyamura will welcome Shiprock at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Miyamura is facing Shiprock at the right time seeing as Shiprock is stuck on an 18-game losing streak. As for Bloomfield, they will host Kirtland Central at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
