Meanwhile, Tuslaw made easy work of Northwest on Friday and carried off an 8-2 win. The result was nothing new for the Mustangs, who have now won eight matchups by six runs or more so far this season.
Isabel McCune made a big impact while hitting and pitching. She looked comfortable on the mound, striking out eight batters over seven innings while giving up just two earned runs off five hits. She has been nothing but reliable: she hasn't tossed less than five strikeouts in four consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and two runs.
In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Hailey Carano, who went 2-for-3 with three RBI, two runs, and one stolen base. Those three RBI gave her a new career-high. Another player making a difference was Kaydence Chapman, who went 2-for-4 with two stolen bases and one run.
Tuslaw is on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four games. That's provided a nice bump to their 12-6 record this season. As for Triway, their victory bumped their record up to 12-5.
Monday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Triway hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .414. However, it's not like Tuslaw struggles in that department as they've averaged .422. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
Triway beat Tuslaw 3-0 in their previous matchup back in May of 2024. Will the Titans repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
