Recap: Palm Desert Aztecs vs. Arrowhead Christian Eagles
The Palm Desert Aztecs entered their tilt with the Arrowhead Christian Eagles with six consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with seven. Palm Desert came out on top against Arrowhead Christian by a score of 80-70 on Friday. Having run the score up that high, both teams might be doing some extra defensive drills very soon.
Coby Christensen was his usual excellent self, scoring 35 points along with seven rebounds. The match was his seventh in a row with at least ten points. Kamrynn Nathan was another key contributor, scoring 15 points along with three steals.
Several Eagles players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Clayton Mpiana , who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 15 rebounds. The contest was Mpiana 's 13th in a row with at least ten points. The team also got some help courtesy of Parker Distelberg , who scored 22 points.
Even though they lost, Arrowhead Christian were smashing the offensive glass and finished the game with 17 offensive rebounds. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Palm Desert only pulled down seven offensive rebounds.
Palm Desert is on a roll lately: they've won 13 of their last 14 matches, which provided a nice bump to their 17-3 record this season. As for Arrowhead Christian, their loss dropped their record down to 10-3.
