Baseball Recap: Santa Fe Indian Takes a Loss

Santa Fe Indian extended their losing streak to four on Tuesday, dropping their season record down to 12-8 in the process. They were a single run away from ending the streak, but they lost a 5-4 heartbreaker at the hands of the Robertson Cardinals. Unfortunately, that's the third time they've come up short against the Cardinals this season, with their most recent defeat being a 3-0 loss on April 3rd.

Kellin Tsosie was cooking despite his team's loss, going 3-for-4 with one run and one double. Terrance Crispin also deserves some recognition as he hit his first triple of the season.

As for Robertson, they have been performing incredibly well recently as they've won six of their last seven games. That's provided a nice bump to their 14-6 record this season. The victory made it back-to-back wins for they.

On Robertson's side, Connor Bonney spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: he surrendered just two earned (and two unearned) runs on nine hits. Bonney has been consistent for a while: he hasn't given up more than two walks in ten consecutive appearances.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Brian Lucero, who went 2-for-3 with one triple, one run, and one RBI. The team also got some help courtesy of Diego Jaramillo, who went a perfect 2-for-2 with two RBI and one double.

The teams didn't have to wait long for a rematch: Robertson beat Santa Fe Indian by a score of 5-4 later that day.
