Softball Recap: Southwest Florida Christian Triumphs

On Tuesday, the Southwest Florida Christian King were able to grind out a solid win over the Aubrey Rogers Patriots, taking the game 8-3. The victory made it back-to-back wins for the King's.

Braelyn Davis spent all seven innings on the mound, and it's clear why: she surrendered only one earned (and two unearned) runs on seven hits. Those hits marked the first that she allowed this season.

At the plate, the team relied heavily on Candice Chime, who scored two runs while getting on base in three of her four plate appearances. What's more, she posted two RBI, the most she's had since back in March of 2024. Another player making a difference was Adrianna Thorne, who scored a run while going 4-for-4.

Southwest Florida Christian kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 14 hits. That strong performance was nothing new for the team: they've now got at least nine hits in three consecutive games.

The victory was their first on the road , bumping their record up to 3-5. As for Aubrey Rogers, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-4.

Looking ahead, Southwest Florida Christian will face off against Everglades City at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday. As for Aubrey Rogers, they will take on Barron Collier at 7:00 p.m. on Wednesday. One thing working in Barron Collier's favor is that they have posted at least ten runs in their last five contests.
