Basketball Recap: Darien Comes Up Short

Darien was not able to break out of their rough patch on Tuesday as the team picked up their third straight defeat. They were four points away from ending the streak, but they lost a 54-50 heartbreaker at the hands of the St. Joseph Cadets. The Blue Wave were probably out for revenge after losing 74-72 to them when the teams met back in January of 2024, then they'll just have to keep looking.

TJ Wright was his usual excellent self, putting up 22 points for St. Joseph. That makes it three consecutive games in which Wright has scored at least a third of St. Joseph's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Lameik Black, who went 7 for 14 on his way to 15 points.

Darien now has a losing record at 3-4. As for St. Joseph, their victory bumped their record up to 4-5.

Darien has already played their next game, an 85-53 loss against Staples on the 17th. As for St. Joseph, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, an 82-54 win against Norwalk on the 17th.
