Volleyball Recap: Franklin Christian Academy Comes Up Short + How To Watch

It was a Battle of the Birds when Franklin Christian Academy faced off against Independence on Monday. The Falcons lost 3-0 to the Eagles. The result was an unpleasant reminder to the Falcons of the 3-0 loss they experienced in the pair's previous head-to-head fixture back in August of 2024.

Franklin Christian Academy was was forced to take the loss, but they sure made Independence work for it, especially in the second set. The match finished with set scores of 25-12, 28-26, 25-13.

Independence can attribute much of their success to Raegan Burtch, who had four digs and four aces. That's the most aces Burtch has posted since back in September of 2024. Caitlyn Bragg also deserves some recognition as she had her first kill of the season.

Franklin Christian Academy now has a losing record of 1-2. As for Independence, the win (which was their eighth in a row) raised their record to 9-1.

Looking ahead, Franklin Christian Academy will head out on the road to square off against The Webb School at 5:30 p.m. on Tuesday. The Falcons are facing the Feet at the right time seeing as the Feet are stuck on a three-game losing streak. As for Independence, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Summit at 6:00 p.m. on Tuesday.
