Recap: Centerville Bulldogs vs. Hanson Memorial Tigers
The Centerville Bulldogs had to endure a ten-game losing streak, but that streak is no more. They walked away with a 40-28 victory over Hanson Memorial on Tuesday. The win was just what Centerville needed coming off of a 64-19 loss in their prior match.
It was another big night for D?Irieyah Mitchell, who dropped a double-double on 22 points and 11 rebounds. She has been hot recently, having posted two or more steals the last six times she's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Ella Billiot, who scored seven points.
Centerville's victory ended a 11-game drought at home dating back to last season and bumped them up to 2-19. As for Hanson Memorial, their defeat was their seventh straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 5-20.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Centerville will take on Berwick at 5:30 p.m. on Thursday. Berwick's defense has only allowed 28.3 points per game this season, so Centerville's offense will have their work cut out for them. Hanson Memorial will be staying on the road on Friday to face off against Central Catholic at 5:30 p.m. on February 9th. Central Catholic will roll in looking for their 14th straight win, something Hanson Memorial surely won't give up without a fight.
