Softball Game Preview: Holy Cross Crusaders vs. Immaculate Mustangs

The Holy Cross Crusaders will face off against the Immaculate Mustangs at 3:45 p.m. on Tuesday. Immaculate took a loss in their last matchup and will be looking to turn the tables on Holy Cross, who comes in off a win.

On Monday, Holy Cross got the win against Waterbury Career Academy by a conclusive 13-1. The Crusaders haven't had any issues with the Spartans recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive win against them.

Meanwhile, Thursday just wasn't the day for Immaculate's offense. They fell 3-0 to Danbury on Thursday. Having soared to a lofty 14 runs in the game before, the Mustangs' shutout was a dramatic turnaround.

Immaculate saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Cami O'Rourke, who went 2-for-3 with one stolen base and one double.

Immaculate's defeat dropped their record down to 1-1. As for Holy Cross, their victory bumped their record up to 3-1.

Holy Cross was able to grind out a solid win over Immaculate in their previous matchup back in May of 2024, winning 7-2. Will the Crusaders repeat their success, or do the Mustangs have a new game plan this time around? We'll find out soon enough.
