Basketball Recap: Sajhara Ramirez's Big Game Can't Quite Lead Wheeler over Varsity Opponent

Wheeler was not able to break out of their rough patch on Saturday as the team picked up their fifth straight loss dating back to last season. They lost 61-36 to Varsity Opponent. Sadly, that's the two time they've come up short against the Warriors, as the also lost their prior matchup 61-34 last Thursday.

Wheeler's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Sajhara Ramirez, who posted 13 points. Another player making a difference was Amaya Womack, who had nine points, to go along with six rebounds and three steals.

Wheeler's loss dropped their record down to 0-2.

Wheeler will look to take advantage of their home court for the first time this season as they take on Varsity Opponent at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Varsity Opponent, they wasted no time getting back out on the court and have already played their next game, a 42-31 victory against Grace Academy on the 7th.
