Basketball Recap: Dunsmuir Comes Up Short

Dunsmuir lost against Tulelake on January 7th and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Tuesday. The Dunsmuir Tigers were outmatched by the Tulelake Honkers and fell 101-20. The Tigers have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Dunsmuir's defeat came despite a true team effort from the offense, with many players turning in solid performances. Perhaps the best among them was Jakob Sovine, who posted ten points. That's the most points Sovine has posted since back in December of 2023. The team also got some help courtesy of Jon Schneider, who earned seven points.

Dunsmuir's loss dropped their record down to 3-12. As for Tulelake, the win made it two in a row for them and bumps their season record up to 6-13.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Dunsmuir will square off against Hayfork at 6:30 p.m. on Thursday. Hayfork will roll in looking for their fourth straight victory, something Dunsmuir surely won't give up without a fight. Tulelake has already played their next contest (against Butte Valley), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing.
