Recap: St. John Paul II Panthers vs. Munroe Bobcats
There's no place like home for the St. John Paul II Panthers, who bounced back after a tough loss on the road last Saturday. They managed a 55-51 win over Munroe on Tuesday. This was payback for St. John Paul II, who suffered a 58-49 defeat the last time these two teams met.
It was another big night for Mario Forbes, who dropped a double-double on 23 points and 25 rebounds. That makes it four consecutive games in which he has scored at least a third of St. John Paul II's points. The team also got some help courtesy of Shalako Moxey, who scored ten points.
Several Bobcats players turned in solid performances, despite ultimately coming up short. Perhaps the best among those players was Zy Reese, who dropped a double-double on 13 points and 11 rebounds. Another player making a difference was JJ Clayton, who scored five points along with 16 rebounds.
St. John Paul II's victory bumped their record up to 9-10. As for Munroe, their defeat dropped their record down to 12-6.
Both squads are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. St. John Paul II will take on North Florida Christian at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. As for Munroe, they will be playing in front of their home fans against Madison County at 7:30 p.m. on Thursday.
