Basketball Recap: McFarland Takes a Loss

McFarland suffered their closest loss since January 25, 2024 on Friday. They fell just short of the Baraboo Thunderbirds by a score of 53-50. The Spartans were not able to repeat the success they had when they faced the Thunderbirds earlier this season, when they won 82-55.

McFarland has also been struggling recently as they've lost 12 of their last 13 matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 3-15 record this season. As for Baraboo, the win snapped their losing streak at seven games and leaves them with a 3-15 record.

McFarland will head out on the road to square off against Mount Horeb at 7:15 p.m. on Thursday. As for Baraboo, they will challenge Marshfield at 7:15 p.m. on Tuesday. The timing isn't great for Baraboo: they have been struggling with eight straight losses at home, while Marshfield has snatched up three consecutive wins on the road.
