Softball Recap: Flanagan Has No Trouble Against Coral Springs

Flanagan's game last Monday was a loss, but they didn't let that memory haunt them on Thursday. They blew past the Coral Springs Colts 18-4. The win continues a trend for the Falcons in their matchups with the Colts: they've now won five in a row.

Jurnee Bent made a splash while hitting and pitching. She pitched five innings while giving up three earned (and one unearned) runs off only one hit. Bent was even better at the plate, scoring two runs and stealing a base while going 1-for-4.

In other batting news, the team relied heavily on Jade Reeves, who scored four runs and stole Two bases. while getting on base in four of her five plate appearances. Those four runs gave her a new career-high. Lyric Jones was another key player, scoring three runs while going 2-for-4.

The victory got Flanagan back to even at 4-4. As for Coral Springs, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-6.

Looking ahead, Flanagan will take on Nova at 6:00 p.m. on Wednesday. Nova is strutting in with some hitting muscle as they've averaged 10.4 runs per game this season. As for Coral Springs, they will challenge Hollywood Hills at 4:00 p.m. on Wednesday.
