Recap: Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets vs. Screven County Gamecocks

The Southeast Bulloch Yellow Jackets had already won two in a row (a stretch where they outscored their opponents by an average of 14.5 points), and they went ahead and made it three on Saturday. They came out on top against Screven County by a score of 76-68. Having run the score up that high, both teams probably have some extra defensive drills coming up.
Demarko Ward and Deon Dixon certainly did their best on Saturday to try and avoid the loss. Ward scored 23 points, while Dixon scored 18 points. That's the first time this season that Ward scored 15 or more points. Another player making a difference was Lavez Roper, who scored seven points.
Southeast Bulloch pushed their record up to 5-3 with that win, which was their fifth straight at home dating back to last season. Those good results were due in large part to their offensive dominance across that stretch, as they averaged 79.4 points per game. As for Screven County, they are on a four-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 2-6.
Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Southeast Bulloch will square off against Bulloch Academy at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday. Screven County will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Bryan County at 7:30 p.m. on January 5, 2024.
