Basketball Recap: Life Center Academy's Win Ends Six-Game Losing Streak at Home

If Liguori Academy wanted to avenge their loss from the last time they played Life Center Academy, they should've done a better job of containing Rasheem Yon. The Life Center Academy Warriors enjoyed a cozy 63-44 win over the Liguori Academy Falcons on Thursday thanks in part to Yon, who went 7 for 11 on his way to 19 points along with seven assists and five steals. He has been hot, having posted three or more steals the last six times he's played.

Benjamin Duverglas also deserves some recognition as he posted his first block of the season. What's more, he also racked up two rebounds, the most he's had since back in December of 2024.

Despite the defeat, Liguori Academy saw an underclassman step up: sophomore Amir Washington posted 18 points.

Life Center Academy's victory ended a six-game drought at home and bumped them up to 10-12. As for Liguori Academy, they have been struggling recently as they've lost six of their last seven matches, which put a noticeable dent in their 5-11 record this season.

Life Center Academy has already played their next game (against Cristo Rey Philadelphia), but no score has been uploaded at the time of writing. Liguori Academy didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next contest, a 68-44 win against Girard College on the 25th.
