Baseball Game Preview: Sprague Olympians vs. Sandy Pioneers

The Sprague Olympians will take on the Sandy Pioneers at 5:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Both teams took a loss in their last game, so they'll have plenty of motivation to get the 'W'.

Sprague is probably headed into the matchup with a chip on their shoulder considering Tigard just ended the team's four-game winning streak on Friday. They fell just short of the Tigers by a score of 5-4.

Meanwhile, Sandy faced Tualatin in a battle between two of the state's top teams on Thursday. The Pioneers wound up with the same score they had in their last game (3-2), but sadly the team found themselves on the wrong side of the score this time. The contest marked their lowest-scoring game so far this season.

Sandy saw four different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Nate Reel, who scored a run while going 2-for-5.

Having lost for the first time this season, Sandy fell to 5-1. As for Sprague, their defeat dropped their record down to 4-3.

Sprague was able to grind out a solid win over Sandy in their previous meeting back in May of 2023, winning 4-1. Do the Olympians have another victory up their sleeve, or will the Pioneers turn the tables on them? We'll have the answer soon enough.
