Football Recap: Rocklin Takes a Loss + How To Watch

After flying high against Monterey Trail last Friday, Rocklin came back down to earth. The Thunder fell 29-20 to the Granite Bay Grizzlies on Friday. Despite 129 more yards than the Grizzlies, the Thunder couldn't convert that extra yardage to scores.

Despite the loss, Rocklin still got an impressive performance from Reeve Slone, who threw for 248 yards and one TD, and also rushed for 58 yards. Shane Moriarty was in the mix as well, providing the Thunder with two scores.

Granite Bay was led to victory by Isaiah Ene and Darnell Turner. Ene rushed for 88 yards and a pair of touchdowns, while Turner gained 82 total yards and a touchdown. Ene also deserves a shoutout for his performance on D, making five total tackles and defending one pass.

Rocklin's defeat dropped their record down to 5-3. As for Granite Bay, the win was the third in a row for them, bringing their record up to 7-2.

Coming up, Rocklin will be playing in front of their home fans against Del Oro at 7:30 p.m. on Friday. As for Granite Bay, they will get to enjoy the win for a while: their next game is against Folsom at 7:00 p.m. on the 31st.
