Baseball Recap: Mt. Vernon Wildcats vs. Evansville Christian Eagles

Mt. Vernon took care of business in their home opener (and then some) on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 14-0 margin over the Evansville Christian Eagles. The Wildcats haven't had any issues with the Eagles recently, as the game was their third consecutive win against them.

Nathan Howard made a big impact no matter where he played. On the mound, he didn't allow a single earned run and allowed only one hit while striking out eight over four innings pitched. Those eight strikeouts gave him a new career-high. He was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-3 with two doubles and two RBI.
