Baseball Game Preview: Wyomissing Spartans vs. Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes

Wyomissing hasn't had much luck against Schuylkill Haven recently, but that could start to change on Friday. The Wyomissing Spartans are headed away from home for the first time to square off against the Schuylkill Haven Hurricanes at 4:30 p.m. Both come into the game bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Wyomissing is headed out to face Schuylkill Haven after opening their season at home and giving their fans just what they were looking for. Wyomissing skirted past North Schuylkill 6-5.

Ryan Graham was a major factor while hitting and pitching. He looked comfortable on the mound, keeping things locked down with no earned runs or hits while striking out six over 4.1 innings pitched. Furthermore, he didn't allow a single hit, the first time he has blanked an opponent since back in March of 2024. He was also solid in the batter's box, scoring a run while going 3-for-4.

In other batting news, Teddy White was excellent, scoring a run and stealing a base while going 3-for-4. Those three hits gave him a new career-high. Cole Sensenig was another key player, scoring a run while going 1-for-4.

Wyomissing was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .429. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as North Schuylkill only posted a batting average of .200.

Meanwhile, everything went Schuylkill Haven's way against Mount Carmel on Wednesday as Schuylkill Haven made off with a 10-4 victory.

Wyomissing came up short against Schuylkill Haven when the teams last played back in March of 2024, falling 5-2. Can Wyomissing avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
