The Oneonta Redskins will challenge the Hokes Bluff Eagles at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday. The two teams are sauntering into the matchup backed by comfortable wins in their prior games.
Oneonta was handed a heart-breaking two-run loss in their last matchup, but they sure didn't let that happen against Cleveland on Tuesday. The Redskins blew past the Panthers 16-1.

Ali Such made a splash no matter where she played. She looked comfortable on the mound, pitching four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. She has been consistent recently: she hasn't given up more than one earned run in four consecutive appearances. She was also big at the plate, getting on base in three of her four plate appearances with four RBI and two runs. Those four RBI gave her a new career-high.
In other batting news, Desz Fredrick was a standout: she got on base in all four of her plate appearances with three RBI and two runs. Lily Wilson was another key player, getting on base in all four of her plate appearances with three runs and two RBI.
Oneonta was getting hits left and right and finished the game having posted a batting average of .542. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Cleveland only posted a batting average of .188.
Meanwhile, Hokes Bluff entered their tilt with Glencoe on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by an 8-2 margin over the Yellowjackets. Considering the Eagles have won six games by more than five runs this season, Tuesday's blowout was nothing new.
Like Oneonta, Hokes Bluff also got a great game from a two-way player: Lacey Grace Hall. She struck out seven batters over four innings while giving up just one earned run off three hits. Hall was also solid in the batter's box, going 2-for-4 with two doubles and one run.
In other batting news, Mazley Ball was incredible, firing off two home runs and four RBI while going 2-for-3. Another player making a difference was Addison Simmons, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and one RBI.
Oneonta's win bumped their record up to 9-5. As for Hokes Bluff, they now have a winning record of 9-8.
Thursday's contest will be a test for both teams' pitchers. Oneonta hasn't had any issues making contact this season, having earned a batting average of .337. However, it's not like Hokes Bluff struggles in that department as they've averaged .329. With both teams so capable at the plate, fans should be ready for an impressive hitting performance.
