Preview: Adams Central Patriots vs. Fillmore Central Panthers

Adams Central has enjoyed a two-game homestand but will soon have to dust off their road jerseys. They will challenge the Fillmore Central Panthers at 7:00 p.m. on Friday. Keep an eye on the score for this one: both teams posted some lofty point totals in their previous games.

On Tuesday, Adams Central took their contest at home with ease, bagging a 56-29 victory over St. Paul. Given Adams Central's advantage in MaxPreps' Nebraska basketball rankings (they are ranked 12th, while St. Paul is ranked 175th), the result wasn't entirely unexpected.

Adams Central can attribute much of their success to Dylan Janzen, who scored ten points, and Hunter Nepple, who scored 14 points. Tate Mcintyre was another key contributor, scoring six points.

Meanwhile, Fillmore Central put another one in the bag on Saturday to keep their perfect season alive. They walked away with a 57-46 win over Centura. 57 seems to be a good number for Fillmore Central as the squad scooped up a victory with the same number of points in their previous game.

Daniel Stoner continued his habit of posting crazy stat lines, scoring 27 points. He continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. Another player making a difference was Jarin Tweedy, who scored 12 points.

Adams Central pushed their record up to 5-0 with that win, which was their third straight at home. They've been dominating during the matchups in that stretch too, as they've won by an average of 23.67 points. As for Fillmore Central, their win bumped their record up to 4-0.

This contest is shaping up to be a blowout: Adams Central hasn't had any problem running up the score this season, having only averaged 57 points per game. It's a different story for Fillmore Central, though, as they've been averaging only 52.8 points per game. The only thing between Adams Central and another offensive beatdown is Fillmore Central. Will they be able to keep them contained?

Adams Central beat Fillmore Central 65-53 when the teams last played back in December of 2022. The rematch might be a little tougher for Adams Central since the squad won't have the home-court advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
