Recap: Chalmette Owls vs. Belle Chasse Cardinals
The Chalmette Owls's recent rough patch got a bit rougher on Friday after their fourth straight loss. They ended up on the wrong side of a rough 52-26 walloping at the hands of Belle Chasse. While losing is never fun, Chalmette can't take it too hard given the team's big disadvantage in MaxPreps' Louisiana basketball rankings (they are ranked 256th, while Belle Chasse is ranked 125th).
Belle Chasse got their victory on the backs of several key players, but it was Savion Barthelemy out in front who scored 8 points. Barthelemy continues to roll, besting his previous point total in each of the last three games he's played. The team also got some help courtesy of Kyle Reeves, who scored 12 points along with 5 rebounds.
Chalmette has not been sharp recently, as they've lost seven of their last eight games, which put a noticeable dent in their 2-10 record this season. As for Belle Chasse, their win bumped their record up to 6-3.
Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Chalmette will challenge Archbishop Shaw at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday. Archbishop Shaw has been dominant on offense recently, as they've racked up an incredible 425 points over their last six matches. Belle Chasse won't have much time to rest: their next game is against Salmen at 4:00 p.m. on December 9th.
