Baseball Game Preview: Panorama Pythons vs. Sherman Oaks CES Knights

The Panorama Pythons will head out to face off against the Sherman Oaks CES Knights at 2:30 p.m. on Wednesday. Panorama comes in still looking for their first win of the season.

Panorama lost 21-8 to Fulton on Friday.

Panorama got a massive performance out of Lucas Fuentes, who scored three runs and stole four bases while getting on base in all four of his plate appearances. Fuentes is crushing it when it comes to stolen bases: he's snagged at least one every time he's taken the field this season. Another player making a difference was Erik Hernandez, who went a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one stolen base.

Even though they lost, Panorama always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .583. That's the best OBP they've posted all season.

Meanwhile, after a string of five wins, Sherman Oaks CES' good fortune finally ran out on Friday. They took a 4-1 hit to the loss column at the hands of Reseda. The contest marked the Knights' lowest-scoring matchup so far this season.

Garrett Arch was a force to be reckoned with on the mound despite the final result: he didn't allow a single earned run while striking out ten over 4.2 innings pitched. With that strong performance, he is now averaging an impressive 5.7 strikeouts per game.

At the plate, Sherman Oaks CES saw two different players step up and record at least one hit. One of them was Brody Brooks, who went 1-for-2 with one double. That double was Brooks' first of the season.

Panorama's defeat dropped their record down to 0-4. As for Sherman Oaks CES, their loss was their first in the league, dropping their league record down to 3-1 and their overall record down to 6-2.

Panorama was able to grind out a solid win over Sherman Oaks CES in their previous meeting back in April of 2015, winning 7-2. The rematch might be a little tougher for Panorama since the squad won't have the home-field advantage this time around. We'll see if the change in venue makes a difference.
