Basketball Recap: Vineland Takes a Loss

Vineland lost against Ocean City back in January and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Wednesday. The Vineland Fighting Clan took a hard 54-39 fall against the Ocean City Raiders. The Fighting Clan have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Ocean City to victory, but perhaps none more so than Naomi Nnewihe, who dropped a double-double on 12 points and ten boards. Nnewihe is on a roll when it comes to rebounds, as she's now pulled down ten or more in the last three games she's played. Another player making a difference was Marley Ostrander, who dropped a double-double on 11 points and 11 boards.

Vineland's defeat dropped their record down to 5-10. As for Ocean City, they are on a roll lately: they've won three of their last four matches, which provided a nice bump to their 12-9 record this season.

Both teams will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Vineland will face off against Camden Academy Charter at 12:30 p.m. on Saturday. As for Ocean City, they will square off against Absegami at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
