Soccer Recap: Mater Dei Takes a Loss

While it was Mater Dei who put the first goals on the board on Monday, it was Maryville Christian who put up more. The Knights took a 4-2 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Lions. That's two games in a row now that Mater Dei have lost by exactly two goals.

Jacob Robert and Hayden Melone scored both of Mater Dei's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

Mater Dei's defeat was their third straight on the road, which dropped their record down to 2-3-1. As for Maryville Christian, their win bumped their record up to 5-2.

Both squads will have to hit the road in their upcoming games. Mater Dei will venture away from home to square off against Wesclin at 4:30 p.m. on Tuesday. As for Maryville Christian, they will head out to take on Metro-East Lutheran at 5:00 p.m. on Thursday.
