Mid-Indiana Football recap September 10, 2013

Logan Splater and Austin Smith provided fans with a highlight when they connected against Indian Creek. The longest such play in Mid-Indiana Football this season, the connection resulted in 81 yards.

Knightstown was the team that made the biggest jump in the rankings, moving from fifth to third in the league. The Panthers beat South Decatur 28-20 earlier in the week.

The Braves' dynamic duo of Nic Brown and Brenden Smith proved tough for Eastern Hancock to stop, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week. Brown threw for 185 yards and 2 touchdowns and Smith had 220 yards receiving. Jake McGowan helped Indian Creek's passing attack out by catching 3 balls for 54 yards.

Indian Creek's dynamic duo of Brown and Smith proved to be unstoppable against the Royals, as they were the top passer and receiver in the league this week.

Smith was the best receiver in the league this week as Mike Gillin's team lost to Eastern Hancock.

Spencer Gilbert was the best running back in Mid-Indiana Football this week. In 26 carries, he ran for 170 yards as Patrick Echeverria's team lost to Patrick Echeverria's team. Teammate Splater added to the ground attack by rushing for 82 yards.

Splater provided a threat through the air and on the ground as the Royals beat Indian Creek. Splater's favorite target this week was Smith, who caught 2 passes for 90 yards.

He went 8-15 with 1 interceptions.

Smith had an awesome week catching the football as the Braves lost to Eastern Hancock.

Brown put up the best numbers through the air as Indian Creek fell to the Royals.

Leading the league in both passing and receiving yards, the Braves' Gynson Robley and Smith have proven to be a lethal combination. 6-4 quarterback Robley has thrown for 392 yards this season, while Smith has 21 catches for 371 yards. Gilbert from Eastern Hancock leads the league in rushing with 515 yards.

A big matchup in the league this week will be when Knightstown takes on North Decatur. Kevin Miller's team is currently in third, while the Chargers are in second.

Milan led the league in scoring this week by notching 38 points on Milan.
