Basketball Recap: First Baptist School Takes a Loss

First Baptist School lost against Woodland back in December of 2023, and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Monday. The First Baptist School Hurricanes lost 71-48 to the Woodland Wolverines. The Hurricanes have now taken an 'L' in back-to-back games.

Leading Woodland to victory were JaKease Salley and Trayvon Tate. Salley dropped a double-double on 22 points and 17 boards, while Tate went 9 of 12 on his way to 22 points and six rebounds. The dominant performance gave Salley a new career-high in boards. The team also got some help courtesy of Jaylen Warren, who posted eight points and seven rebounds.

First Baptist School now has a losing record at 1-2. As for Woodland, their win (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

First Baptist School will challenge James Island at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. As for Woodland, they will venture away from home to square off against Cane Bay at 8:30 p.m. on December 16th.
