Preview: Cheshire Academy Cats vs. Williston Northampton Wildcats
The Cheshire Academy Cats will head out on the road to face off against the Williston Northampton Wildcats at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday. Each of these teams will be battling to keep a four-game winning streak alive.
Last Saturday, Cheshire Academy was fully in charge, breezing past Phillips Academy 42-14 at home. The match was pretty much decided by the half, when the score had already reached 42-0.
Multiple players turned in solid performances to lead Cheshire Academy to victory, but perhaps none more so than Shawn Mills, who rushed for 89 yards and two touchdowns on only six carries. Bryce Hrubiec made the highlight reel by snagging an interception and taking it all the way to the house.
Meanwhile, even though Buckingham Browne & Nichols scored an imposing 49 points on Saturday, Williston Northampton still came out on top. Williston Northampton strolled past Buckingham Browne & Nichols with points to spare, taking the game 64-49.
Their wins bumped Cheshire Academy to 4-0 and Williston Northampton to 4-1.
Cheshire Academy and Williston Northampton were almost perfectly matched up when the teams last played back in September of 2022, but Cheshire Academy suffered an agonizing 15-14 defeat. Can Cheshire Academy avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
