Baseball Preview: Campbell Hall Vikings vs. Brentwood School Eagles
For the second straight game, Campbell Hall will face off against Brentwood School. The Vikings will head out on the road to take on the Eagles at 3:15 p.m. on Thursday. Campbell Hall has now lost seven straight, leaving the team hunting for their first win since March 19.
Campbell Hall fell victim to Brentwood School and their airtight pitching crew on Tuesday. They took a 5-0 hit to the loss column at the hands of the Eagles. The match marked the first time this year in which the Vikings were not able to get on the board.
For Brentwood School's part, not much got past Hayden Prince, who gave up just three hits and racked up six Ks to keep Campbell Hall off the board. Prince also tossed no earned runs, which is notable because the Eagles are 3-1 when he allows at most one earned run, but 5-9 otherwise.
At the plate, Dean Hoshide was excellent, scoring a run while going 2-for-2. That's the most hits he has posted since back in February. Riley Nicholson also deserves some recognition as he brought in his first RBI of the season.
Brentwood School's win bumped their record up to 8-10. As for Campbell Hall, their loss dropped their record down to 4-9.
