Basketball Game Preview: Harrison Raiders vs. Valparaiso Vikings

The Harrison Raiders will take on the Valparaiso Vikings at 5:30 p.m. on Saturday.

Last Wednesday, Harrison came up short against Zionsville and fell 45-35. The defeat continues a trend for the Raiders in their matchups with the Eagles: they've now lost four in a row.

The losing side was boosted by Elsie Ahnert, who went 5 for 11 on her way to 13 points in addition to six rebounds and four steals. The team also got some help courtesy of Ava Ahnert, who posted nine points.

Meanwhile, winning is always nice, but doing so behind a season-high score is even better (just ask Valparaiso). They blew past Portage 74-21 on Thursday. With the Vikings ahead 48-10 at the half, the match was all but over already.

Valparaiso's win bumped their record up to 10-7. As for Harrison, their loss dropped their record down to 5-12.

Harrison suffered a grim 61-41 defeat to Valparaiso when the teams last played back in January of 2024. Can Harrison avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
