It may have taken extra minutes to finish the job, but Laurel ultimately got the result they hoped for on Monday. They sure made it a nail-biter, but they managed to escape with a 2-1 victory over the Wise Pumas. The win continues a trend for Laurel in their matchups with Wise: they've now won four in a row.

Adonay Navarrete and Alex Gordon scored both of Laurel's goals, bringing their combined season tally to four goals.

The victory got Laurel back to even at 2-2. As for Wise, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 0-2-1.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Laurel will welcome Winters Mill at 3:30 p.m. on Wednesday. As for Wise, they will get a bit of extra time to process the loss as their next game is a ways off. They'll take on Crossland at 3:00 p.m. on October 16.
