Volleyball Game Preview: Start Spartans vs. Wellington Dukes

The Start Spartans will venture away from home to square off against the Wellington Dukes at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday. Both come into the contest bolstered by wins in their previous matches.

Start took a loss when they played away from home last Thursday, but their home fans gave them all the motivation they needed on Wednesday. They walked away with a 3-1 win over Rogers.

Start walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-10, 24-26, 25-22, 25-22.

Meanwhile, Wellington came tearing into Thursday's match with three straight wins , and they left with even more momentum. They came within a single set of losing the streak, but they secured a 3-2 W against the Cardinals.

Wellington took Brookside into a fifth set where they got it done with a ten-point win. The match finished with set scores of 25-9, 22-25, 23-25, 25-20, 15-5.

Wellington's win bumped their record up to 12-6. As for Start, their victory bumped their record up to 5-9.

Start might still be hurting after the 3-0 loss they got from Wellington when the teams last played back in September of 2022. Can the Spartans avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
