Volleyball Game Preview: Tampa Catholic Crusaders vs. Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders

The Tampa Catholic Crusaders will take on the Clearwater Central Catholic Marauders at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday.

On Thursday, Tampa Catholic came up short against Lakewood Ranch and fell 3-1.

The loss didn't mean the game wasn't competitive: Lakewood Ranch scored at least 17 points in every set. The final score came out to 25-20, 25-18, 21-25, 25-17.

Meanwhile, there's no place like home for Clearwater Central Catholic, who bounced back after a loss on the road on Tuesday. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over Keswick Christian on Thursday. That looming 3-0 mark stands out as the most commanding margin for the Marauders yet this season.

While Clearwater Central Catholic won a shutout, things came down to the wire in the first set they played. The match finished with set scores of 27-25, 25-17, 25-20.

Clearwater Central Catholic found their leader in freshman Adriana Shorter, who had 15 assists and four digs.

Clearwater Central Catholic was lethal from the service line and finished the match with 11 aces. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Keswick Christian only served three.

Tampa Catholic's defeat ended a three-match streak of wins at home and dropped them to 13-9. As for Clearwater Central Catholic, they pushed their record up to 7-10 with the victory, which was their third straight at home.
