Softball Recap: Abington Heights Wins Going Away Against Scranton Prep

Abington Heights had to skate by with only a one-run margin when they last took the field, which might have inspired the 11-run drubbing they dealt Scranton Prep on Wednesday. The Comets put the hurt on the Cavaliers with a sharp 11-0 win. The Comets haven't had any issues with the Cavaliers recently, as the game was their seventh consecutive victory against them.

Laurenp Stalica made a splash no matter where she played. On the mound, she didn't allow a single earned run while striking out six over four innings pitched. She has been consistent for a while: she hasn't tossed less than six strikeouts in 11 consecutive appearances. She was also solid in the batter's box, going a perfect 3-for-3 with three RBI and one run.

In other batting news, Isabelle Wilmot was incredible, going 2-for-3 with two runs, one stolen base, and two RBI. She also put up a double, which was her first of the season. Isabella DeRiggi was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one stolen base, one run, and one double.

Abington Heights always had someone on base and finished the game having posted an OBP of .576. They easily outclassed their opponents in that department as Scranton Prep only posted an OBP of .211.

Abington Heights' record is now 11-2. As for Scranton Prep, this is the second loss in a row for them and nudges their season record down to 5-7.
