Basketball Game Preview: South Kingstown Rebels vs. La Salle Academy Rams

The South Kingstown Rebels will head out to challenge the La Salle Academy Rams at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday. One thing working in South Kingstown's favor is that they have posted at least 55 points every time they've taken the court this season.

South Kingstown is coming in fresh off a high-stakes matchup with another one of Rhode Island's top teams: Narragansett, who was ranked 18th at the time (South Kingstown was ranked eighth). South Kingstown came out on top against Narragansett by a score of 70-57 on Thursday.

Meanwhile, La Salle Academy entered their tilt with Barrington on Thursday with three consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with four. They took down the Eagles 77-59.

La Salle Academy's win was their sixth straight at home dating back to last season, which pushed their record up to 9-1. The wins came thanks to their offensive performance across that stretch, as they averaged 71.3 points per game. As for South Kingstown, their victory bumped their record up to 8-1.

South Kingstown was taken down by La Salle Academy 81-53 in their previous meeting back in February of 2021. Can South Kingstown avenge their defeat or is history doomed to repeat itself? We'll find out soon enough.
