Volleyball Recap: Newark's Win on Tuesday Extends Winning Streak to Three

Newark entered their tilt with Reynoldsburg on Tuesday with two consecutive wins but they'll enter their next game with three. They put the hurt on the Raiders with a sharp 3-0 win. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in September.

Newark walked away with the victory (and looked especially good in the first set). The final score came out to 25-9, 25-20, 25-19.

Makayla Meister paced Newark's offense, picking up 18 kills. Meister got some help from Peyton Sherman and her 23 assists. Sherman was also solid from the service line: she led the team with three aces.

Newark's record is now 16-5. As for Reynoldsburg, the loss snapped their winning streak at four matches and leaves them with a 8-12 record.

We've got plenty of inter-conference action coming up soon. Newark will challenge rival Lancaster at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday. Meanwhile, Reynoldsburg is set to square off against their familiar foe Pickerington Central at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday.
