After having lost a blowout in their previous game against Brenham, Prosper was happy to have turned things around on Tuesday. They won by a run and slipped past the McKinney Boyd Broncos 9-8. The win continues a trend for the Eagles in their matchups with the Broncos: they've now won five in a row.

Peyton Moya and Ava Van Volkenburgh did most of the damage at the plate: Moya went 4-for-5 with two runs, two RBI, and one double, while Van Volkenburgh went 3-for-4 with three RBI and two doubles. Those two doubles gave Van Volkenburgh a new career-high. Bella Lopez was another key player, going 2-for-4 with two runs, one double, and one RBI.

They weren't the only ones making solid contact: Prosper kept the outfield on their toes and finished the game with 13 hits. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their hit total in three consecutive matchups.

Prosper's victory bumped their record up to 5-7. As for McKinney Boyd, they are on an eight-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-8.

Both teams are looking forward to the support of their home crowds in their upcoming games. Prosper will challenge Plano East at 7:15 p.m. on Friday. The Eagles' pitchers better be ready for this one: the Panthers have averaged an impressive 6.8 runs per game this season. As for McKinney Boyd, they will take on Wylie at 2:15 p.m. on Thursday.
