Volleyball Recap: Dynamic Duo of Daniel Freitas and Dantae Bauer Lead Taunton to Victory

Taunton entered their tilt with Silver Lake Regional on Wednesday with two consecutive wins, and they'll enter their next game with three. They were the clear victors by a 3-0 margin over the Lakers. That's the second time they've managed to beat them this season, as they also won 3-0 back in March.

Taunton's got stronger as the match went on, holding Silver Lake Regional to fewer and fewer points set over set. Once all was said and done, the final score wound up at 25-16, 25-11, 25-10.

Taunton was led to victory by Dantae Bauer and Daniel Freitas. Bauer had 16 digs and three aces, while Freitas had 28 assists and six aces. Freitas has been hot for a while, having posted 19 or more assists the last 21 times he's played. Maddox Chaves also deserves some recognition as he had his first digs of the season.

They weren't the only good server: Taunton was lethal from the service line and finished the game with 14 aces. The team's really been improving in that area: they've now improved their ace total in three consecutive matchups.

Taunton's record is now 14-4. As for Silver Lake Regional, they are on a 14-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 1-15.

Taunton wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next game, a 3-0 win against Framingham on the 23rd. Silver Lake Regional does not have any more games scheduled as of now.
