Basketball Recap: Rainier Christian Takes a Loss

Rainier Christian lost against Northwest Christian back in December of 2023 and unfortunately they wound up with the same result on Thursday. The Rainier Christian Mustangs lost 55-30 to the Northwest Christian Wolverines.

Northwest Christian was led to victory by Dan Babber and Jack Vahey. Babber went 9 of 20 on his way to 23 points in addition to eight assists and five steals, while Vahey went 8 for 15 on his way to 17 points and five steals. Those eight assists gave Babber a new career-high. The team also got some help courtesy of Joseph Meier, who posted seven points in addition to five rebounds and three steals.

Rainier Christian dropped their record down to 0-2 with the loss, which was their seventh straight on the road dating back to last season. As for Northwest Christian, the win was their first at home , bumping their record up to 2-3.

Rainier Christian wasted no time getting back out on the court and has already played their next match, a 65-62 victory against Summit Atlas on the 13th. As for Northwest Christian, they also didn't take long to hit the court again: they've already played their next game, a 45-40 defeat against North Beach on the 13th.
