Baseball Recap: Del City Comes Up Short

Del City was the 11-3 winner over Capitol Hill when they last played one another back in March of 2024, but their luck changed this time around. The Del City Eagles fell just short of the Capitol Hill Redwolves by a score of 13-12 on Thursday. Even if the Eagles couldn't come away with the win, the high-scoring effort was a great turnaround for their hitters, which had struggled int the games prior.

Kale Standifer was cooking despite his team's loss, scoring four runs and stealing Two bases. while going 3-for-4. Josh Hardeman was another key player, going 2-for-3 with one triple, one stolen base, and two RBI.

Del City is on a three-game losing streak that has dropped them down to 0-3. As for Capitol Hill, their victory (their first of the season) made their record 1-2.

Coming up, it'll be a Battle of the Birds when Del City Eagles challenge Guthrie Bluejays at 5:00 p.m. on Monday. As for Capitol Hill, they will take on Star-Spencer at 5:30 p.m. on Friday.
